Lisa Ackerman
Lisa Ackerman was named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of World Monuments Fund in 2007. Previously Ms. Ackerman served as Executive Vice President of the Samuel H. Kress Foundation. Ms. Ackerman holds a B.A. from Middlebury College, an M.S. in Historic Preservation from Pratt Institute, and an M.B.A. from New York University. Ms. Ackerman serves on the boards of Historic House Trust of New York City, New York Preservation Archive Project, and US/ICOMOS. In 2007 she received the Historic District Council's Landmarks Lion award and in 2008, Ms. Ackerman was named the first recipient of the US/ICOMOS Ann Webster Smith Award for International Heritage Achievement.
Norma Barbacci
Norma Barbacci, who joined the World Monuments Fund in 2001, is WMF’s Director of Programs for Latin America, Spain, and Portugal, and she manages all field projects and initiatives in these countries. Ms. Barbacci received her B.A. in architecture from Carnegie Mellon University, where she was awarded the AIA School Medal and Certificate from the Adams Fund for Excellence in the Study of Architecture. She received her M.S. in Historic Preservation from Columbia University, where she was awarded the Historic Preservation Thesis Award for her study of the adaptive reuse of a medieval residential complex in Civita di Bagnoregio, Italy. Ms. Barbacci is a registered architect in the State of New York. Before joining WMF, Ms. Barbacci worked as a preservation architect at Beyer Blinder Belle Architects and Planners.
Fabio Grementieri
Fabio Grementieri studied architecture and historic preservation at the University of Buenos Aires. He is a partner at the architectural practice Baez-Carena-Grementieri and Director of the Preservation Program at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. In addition to the preservation efforts noted above, Grementieri has done preservation work at La Prensa Palace, Alvear Palace Hotel, Palace Carlos Gardel and many other private and public Argentine landmarks. Grementieri also organized International Conference “Architectural Culture around 1900 – critical reappraisal and heritage preservation” held in Buenos Aires in 1999 that inspired the creation of the World Heritage Center Program on Modern Heritage (2001-2005). He also oversaw “Buenos Aires Architectural Heritage Day” from 1997 to 2000 for the Secretary of Culture for the City of Buenos Aires.
Grementieri has held several prominent advisory roles, including: Advisor to the Commission of Architectural Heritage for the Buenos Aires City Council; Advisor on Cultural Heritage Affairs to the National Secretary of Culture of Argentina, Advisor on Historic Preservation to “Fundación Ciudad” and Advisor on Architecture and Heritage to the “Direction of Cultural Affairs” Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina. Grementieri has participated in numerous academic conferences and has been a guest lecturer at a variety of universities speaking on historic preservation and heritage. He has also served as a faculty member of the Architecture, Design and Urbanism Department at the University Buenos Aires and was a researcher at the University’s Center for Heritage Conservation. Among other titles, Grementieri has authored: Buenos Aires – Architectural Heritage (2002) and Buenos Aires Art Deco and Modernism (2008).
